Dinosaur train!

Hey everyone,

It's been awhile.  If you haven't seen any pics of Henry elsewhere lately, you're going to be shocked at how much of a little boy he is now!  This hat I made because one of Henry's favourite shows (not that he watches many or has a choice really) is Dinosaur Train.  We watch Dinosaur train so often that the other day I was watching a show that referenced a pachycephalosaurus and I knew what it was (without having to look it up).  This hat is not a representation of a pachycephalosaurus though.  It's a sauropod for sure.  Now that you're all caught up on your dinosaur facts,  here is my (not so) little man, smiling as always:

And he actually let me take his picture:

Ok Ma, I take this off now, yes?

You wear it please!

Still my blue eyed baby:

You can only just see it in these pics, but his shirt is also rocking a dinosaur theme.  Coincidentally, I had already completed this hat when we saw this t-shirt at a store.  So naturally we had to buy it for the photo-op.

I'll try to be better about updating.  Until then!

'Cause we need a little Christmas...

Happy December everyone!  I wanted to start by saying thank you to everyone for your kind words the past few weeks.  Grandma was a great lady, I just felt like I should share with the world.

So we haven't had a new hat in a while...Around here we are getting ready for Christmas, so we've started with the holiday themed hats.  Here's a teaser:

Look at those eyes!  He was trying to grab the camera from me, hence the close up.  Here is a little more:

Now for the whole thing:

We actually managed to get the christmas tree in that one!  Here he is checking out some other christmas decorations:

Eating a lemon?:

Finally sitting still:

I have a lot of holiday hats planned this year, look for more updates than usual the next few weeks!  Hopefully Henry is as willing to actually wear the hats as he was this week.  Until then!

Beelzebub

As some of you may know, Trevor was away all week.  He's home now, which is good, because while he's gone the little man acts like this:

That's right, my little devil.  Actually he's not so bad.  He got another tooth this week too so he was cranky and full of attitude all week:

I should have given him the number "6" to chew on here:

Yum yum, delicious foam numbers

I'm getting away from you guys!

Don't be fooled by that face!  It's all part of the act.

In case you've been wondering what will become of the hat blog, I think what I will do once I'm back to work (which is alarmingly soon) is cut down to one hat per month and we'll see where things go from there.  I also have yet to come up with what to do with the many, many hats that are the fruit of this whole project.  I will keep you updated when I decide what to do with them all.

Cheers!

Henry the Great

Lately I've been reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.  If this doesn't sound familiar to you, perhaps you know the series better in it's television incarnation: True Blood.

I've only really watched the first season in it's entirety, but I've read the novels up to book 7 so far and I must admit, I am totally team Eric, forget Bill, Sam, Alcide, or anyone else.  Something about a giant Viking seems appealing to me.

Of course this isn't my first time being interested in Vikings or Viking related things, I also enjoy dragons, celtic patterns, Thor.

When I searched "baby boy hat" on pinterest this week, I saw without a doubt the hat we would be doing this week.  So in honour of Eric the (former) Viking:

Practicing his warrior face:

War hammer (or a totally baby-proof rubber mallet, whatever):

Serious business:

How's this face Ma?:

So there we have it.  My cute little man (who is quickly becoming a not so little man).

Have a great long weekend everyone!
