Ka-Pow! Blam!

At long last, I have found some time to update everyone on Henry's Halloween.  Last halloween was the peter pan costume that kind of started all of this hat-making and blogging.  Since his costume was so cute last year, I figured you wouldn't let me get away with buying one for him this year, at least, not the whole costume.  This year, Henry went as - da nananananananana da nanananananana Batman!

Answering the bat signal:

Bat signal again?:

False alarm.  (Notice the batmobile in the background?  Thanks Aunty Katy and Brett)!

Now we'll take a short break from batman pictures.  Thumbs up for pumpkin carving (we're letting him start early so that he hopefully doesn't inherit his dad's bad luck with knives):

All finished!:

They turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.  The little Jack Skellington heads are candle holders that I got from a friend a long time ago:

Batman playing with his new fisherprice Kitchen:

Happy man!  (Thanks to GG for the smiling shot where he isn't trying to take off his hat):

That's all for this week.  Tune in next week, same bat time, same bat channel.

Henry, the Pumpkin King

Hello everyone!  Long time no see!  I have gone back to work and the first few weeks were an adjustment, so no updates.  But now that I'm getting back in the swing of things, I found I even had time for a new hat.

This weekend, we took Henry to the pumpkin patch (which we did not do last year since he was still so small).  Here is a picture:

A rare picture with mom in it!  There's a really beautiful article over at Huffington Post called "The Mom Stays in the Picture."  If you have a moment, I highly recommend you head over there and check it out.  Now, what you've all been waiting for:

It's Henry wearing a Jack Skellington hat, playing with Jack Skellington!  For those of you who may not know, I am a huge Tim Burton fan.  I particularly enjoy Nightmare Before Christmas (I know, it's not directed by Tim Burton, but his hands were all over it).

Here is a slightly better picture of the hat (Henry was a little uncooperative and more than a little cranky at the time of the photoshoot).

There we go, sour face, but nice hat:

Exhasted at the pumpkin patch with Dad:

Mini-me:

Checking out a potential:

In the end we got 2 pumpkins, but we decided next year, we'll come for the fun, but get the pumpkin elsewhere (I think daddy was tired of carrying baby/pumpkins by the end.

Keep your eyes peeled for a Halloween update!
