Dinosaur train!

Hey everyone,

It's been awhile.  If you haven't seen any pics of Henry elsewhere lately, you're going to be shocked at how much of a little boy he is now!  This hat I made because one of Henry's favourite shows (not that he watches many or has a choice really) is Dinosaur Train.  We watch Dinosaur train so often that the other day I was watching a show that referenced a pachycephalosaurus and I knew what it was (without having to look it up).  This hat is not a representation of a pachycephalosaurus though.  It's a sauropod for sure.  Now that you're all caught up on your dinosaur facts,  here is my (not so) little man, smiling as always:

And he actually let me take his picture:

Ok Ma, I take this off now, yes?

You wear it please!

Still my blue eyed baby:

You can only just see it in these pics, but his shirt is also rocking a dinosaur theme.  Coincidentally, I had already completed this hat when we saw this t-shirt at a store.  So naturally we had to buy it for the photo-op.

I'll try to be better about updating.  Until then!

Sly like a fox

Ok, ok, it's been a shamefully long time since I updated.  But sometimes, life gets in the way of blogging.  No matter, we're back.  I managed to catch the busy little man just long enough to take a few pics and send him back into the wild.

Yes, that's a Starbucks re-useable cup in his hand.  He likes coffee mugs, what can I say, he comes by it honestly.

Concentrating:

A slightly better shot of the hat:

It looks like the wee man may need a hair cut soon, check out that lock peeking out!

Mom, why do you have a coffee cup on your head?  (Because you won't look at my otherwise wee man):

Not much hat here, but such a cutie:

Next update I'll include some updates on some other projects I have on the go, just for fun :)

Nice to see you all again!  Welcome back!

Birthday Boy!

Happy Monday everyone!  Today I have an extra special post (and also potentially extra long), today is Henry's birthday!  It's a little hard to believe that he's one already.  He's turning into such a funny, sweet little man, he makes us laugh everyday.

To start, I'd like to show you what's become of all those hats.  I didn't count them, but I think there's around 50....

It was a little hard to get this shot without falling off the chair, hence the un-centred shot:

One last pic of what's become of the hats (at least temporarily):

We're going to move the whole hat-banner up to Henry's room as a kind of border, for now they're on display.

Now for some party pics:

I can't really take too much credit for the awesome-ness of all these things. All I really did was cut up the vegetables.  The rest is courtesy of my mother, two bakers, and my father's co-worker's wife.

Presents:

What a lucky little man!  A few more party shots, then we'll get to his hat:

Not too sure about the cake:

Mostly just shovelling it into his lap:

Hanging out on his leafs chair with cousin T:

Little men:

Cousin J:

Hat time at last!  He really did want to wear the hat this morning.  As GG said, he's one now, so he's got some attitude (but in the end he tolerated it):

Some new toys helped in the persuasion process:

Yum:

Finally I got it off!:

I hope you enjoyed the look at our festivities.  I'll keep making hats of course, but probably not weekly.  Keep looking for updates, I promise there will continue to be some!

Cheers!

Punk Boy

Sorry for the late update.  We had a very busy weekend between birthday parties and barbeques.  Luckily the weather was beautiful and the little man was feeling quite congenial.

My little punk rocker decided he wanted a new hairdo this week.  Generally he rocks a wee little mullet.  He's got lots of hair in the back and it's just starting to grow in thicker on top.  It's adorable, but he wanted to know what it might be like to have a different 'do:

Also, he would not put his cheese down:

Then he shoved the whole thing in his mouth (some running down his lip here):

So blase about the whole photo shoot:

Mom is funny:

In other news, I updated the etsy store, so there are lots more hats in there now.  As always if you live nearby, contact me if there's something you are interested in, I'll hook you up.

Bork Bork Bork!

Hey everyone!
Ok, we're back into high gear this week.  One of my husbands favourite Muppet characters is the Swedish Chef.  So in honour of Trevor's birthday and the Swedish Chef, please enjoy some pictures of Henry cooking up a storm:

Bork bork!

Silly man, you're not supposed to sit in the pot!  (This is the biggest pot I have in my kitchen, he barely fits in it).

Then you add some salt:

Stir it all together:

Then charm everyone with your big blue eyes and no one will notice how it tastes:

Enjoy the rest of the week!

Where's Wald---errr, Henry?

Happy Friday Everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying the heat we're having (if you are in southern Ontario anyway, maybe elsewhere too).  Since we've been pretty much housebound today enjoying the air conditioning, I had enough time to finish this week's hat a bit early as well as stage our photo shoot.

The idea for this week actually came from last week.  I thought the beanie made Henry look a little like Waldo (of Where's Waldo? fame).  I did a little research to see exactly what Waldo's hat really looks like, and here we are!  I also happened to have the perfect shirt to complete the costume.  I think I actually buy these red and white striped suits because I love the Labyrinth.  I'm not going to tell you how awesome it is.  In fact, I'm going to assume that since we're friends, you've seen it, so I won't even tell you what it's about or what it has to do with red and white striped baby suits.

I digress, back to the pics:

Did I forget to mention the pipe-cleaner glasses?:

It was hard today to get little man to smile/pay attention/take the toys out of his mouth

Chewing away (tooth eruption #5 is imminent):

Snarfing at me:

Almost a smile, and look, nothing in his mouth!:

What a funny little man, he makes me laugh all day long.
